Join the Amazing 4th Of July Parade in Virginia City!

Attention All Clampers!
The Julia C. Bulette Chapter #1864 needs all hands on deck for the Virginia City Fourth of July Parade!
We’re honored to carry the largest American flag in the parade, and it takes at least a dozen stout-hearted Clampers to carry it properly. More is even better! And we would really love to have a massive number of Clampers, Widders, and Orphans marching with us to really impress the thousands of attendees with the patriotism of ECV!
Not sure if you should come? Read ONLY the section below that best describes you.
Warning: Reading the wrong section may result in unintended side effects, including excessive self-awareness, spontaneous patriotism, or being volunteered to carry the heavy end of the flag.
If You’re Motivated by Logic and Reason
You are an intelligent Clamper who carefully weighs the facts before making decisions.
The facts are simple:
- The flag weighs the same whether forty or twenty or twelve people carry it.
- The United States of America only has one birthday each year.
- This birthday is the 250th Anniversary of the Founding!
- The public enjoys seeing E Clampus Vitus participate.
- If you show up, everyone has an easier, more enjoyable day.
Therefore, the rational conclusion is obvious. Show up!
Thank you for attending my TED Talk.
If You’re Motivated by Shame and Public Ridicule
So…you’re planning to let everyone else carry that giant flag while you heroically sit on your ass in the comfort of your couch with a cold beverage?
Interesting strategy. Looser. Just remember, when people ask, “Where were all the Clampers?” we’ll all know. Your chapter will know. Your widder will know. History will know. Somewhere, a donkey will lower its head in shame and disappointment.
Don’t make us tell future generations that you were defeated by a couch and a cold beer. Get to Virginia City, and change your slacker ways.
If You’re Motivated by Praise and Encouragement
Let’s face it, you’re exactly the kind of Clamper we need in this parade. Strong. Handsome. Wise. Well endowed. And modest beyond compare. People smile when they see you. Small children wave. Eagles salute and lower their heads in awe.
The flag deserves someone of your obvious talents and remarkable character. Besides, everyone, and I mean everyone, enjoys seeing you. And we’d genuinely appreciate your magnanimous help. Come join us. You’ll make the parade awesome, and your fellow Clampers so very proud to be able to march with you by their side!
Whatever your motivation, be in Virginia City at the JCB Hall at 11:30 on the Fourth and help carry Old Glory with your brothers. We walk down to line up for the parade at around 11:30. Widders and Orphans are welcome! And the Hall Bar might even be open after the parade for those that need refreshments.
The flag is large and needs at least a dozen or more carriers. Let’s show Nevada, and the country, that E Clampus Vitus knows how to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in style. And later in the day, wind willing, there is a spectacular fireworks event, so come and enjoy Virginia City on this wondrous day of celebration!
Remember: It takes at least twelve Clampers to carry Old Glory. It only takes one to explain why there were only eleven. Don’t be that Clamper. We want at least 25-30 Red Shirts, and 100 or more would be fantastic! With Julia C Bulette, Snowshoe Thompson, Copper Queen, Bodie, Sam Clements, Chief Truckee, Downie. James Marshall and Jesse Lee Reno all within reasonably easy driving distance there’s really no reason why we can’t have the absolutely biggest presence in this historic parade…Don’t miss out!
