Drake’s Plate of Brasse Field Trip

We have an opportunity to visit the Drake’s Plate of Brasse in Berkeley and to actually handle the thing! We recently donated historical materials to the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley and chatted up the librarian there, who graciously offered to help us with this visit. Afterword: We had 8 people show up: Joe Sheppard, Bebo White, Jason DeCook, and myself among them. We were able to confirm the existence of fluorescent paint remnants on the back of the plate with a blacklight, confirming the assertion that the original hoaxsters painted “ECV” on the back.
